Welcome to Cockerham Alpacas

Welcome to Cockerham Alpacas.  We are a small family-run smallholding located in on the edge of the Trough of Bowland, close to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.  We are just 10 minutes from the M6 J33 south of Lancaster.

The world of alpaca was introduced to us in 2000 at the Royal Highland Show and we have been fascinated by these wonderful animals since then.  After many hours of discussion and research we finally decided to go ahead and start a herd in 2004.

We lead very busy lives and therefore needed animals which required relatively low maintenance – alpacas were the ideal choice!  They have a gentle temperament, are delightful to look after and have a low impact on the environment.

At Cockerham Alpacas we are devoted to to the care and breeding of alpacas and encourages others who may be considering becoming involved with these wonderful animals either purely for pleasure or as an alternative livestock.  Our aim is to produce exceptionally high quality alpacas with the finest fleece and to promote the industry as a whole.

Cockerham Alpacas has been invited to attend local agricultural shows and we look forward to showing off a selection of our herd.

Cockerham Alpacas are a member of the British Alpaca Society and British Camelid Association.
